Secret fjord jeep tour
An epic journey to the less known but all the more beautiful fjord.
Let’s leave the crowds behind this time and embark on a journey on an off-beaten path to the magical fjord of Mjóifjörður. One of our jeeps will take you on this gravel road road-trip. We stop at several breathtaking waterfalls, in the only village of the fjord inhabited permanently by only 7 people and drive all the way to the farm of Dalatangi with it’s historical lighthouses. You will feel as you are at the literal end of the world.

The tour starts in the morning so we can comfortably enjoy the day without rushing. It takes two mountain passes with stunning view to get to Mjóifjörður. As we descend down to the fjord we stop by people’s #1 choice fjord of East Iceland - Klifbrekkufossar. It’s a breathtaking cascading waterfall in a pristine nature setting. We continue through the fjord with a stop by a WW2 shipwreck and through the village. If we’re very lucky we might sight a whales in the waters of fjords. We pass by many other beautiful waterfalls on our way the very end of the fjord - Dalatangi. A very remote farm surrounded by steep pointed mountains is home to two historical lighthouses. After a small excursion we are turning around.
On our way back we stop at the village of Mjóifjörður for a little exploration and a little snack too. We drive back to Seyðisfjörður.
